Golden Globe Awards...Rise of Underdogs

On January 11 2009 The 66th Golden globe awards was broadcast from Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. The live telecast was watched by millions of movie buffs (myself) & TV series followers. As I were watching it at my friend's house in JB, (Johore Bahru, the nearest state to Singapore) we didn't expect that the Underdogs from the nominees list could win couple of Globes on that sensational night.

The 66th Golden globe awards witnessed the winning of Slumdog Millionaire which grabbed 4 Golden Globes. British acclaimed director, Danny Boyle takes pride for portraying this underdog tale. I watched few glimpses of the movie which was shown during the awards ceremony, & i find myself captivated to the story. The story is about a young Indian guy from the streets of Mumbai who participated in the India's version of Who Wants to be A Millionaire TV game show.

The protagonist exceeds the expectation, but arrested by police on suspicion of cheating. The story goes from here & director Danny Boyle used his remarkable directing skills on delivering Jamal's (protagonist) upbringing & love memoirs in poverty driven Mumbai. Though I have not yet watch this movie but my artistic feelings tell me that Slumdog Millionaire is a wonderfully woven story that has been expertly edited. Kudos for the whole team for producing this wonderful underdog tale. This shows that there are exceptional skills from Indian Cinema that waiting to be explored. Hopefully Slumdog Millionaire can be a stepping stone to bring better cinematographic
experience from Indian Cinema Industry. Hopefully (with a big H) the movie will be shown in Malaysian cinemas so that I can catch It on big screens.
